Controversial plans for waste plant on banks of River Wensum given go-ahead at appeal
A revised application was considered by the County Council Planning Committee on the 14th of September and although initially refused, was then accepted following a recount and with the Chair’s casting vote. Labour Councillors all voted against the proposal. This is however likely to be scrutinised by the full Council at a later date.
Local residents remain concerned about the fire risk, excessive traffic movements and the danger to the River Wensum from water run off which could adversely affect the Norwich water supply.
Broadland Labour Party will continue to monitor the situation and support local residents in their campaign of opposition to the development.
