Norfolk Representative on the Labour East Regional Board & Chair of Wensum Branch
In the past David has served the CLP as Chair, Trade Union Liaison Officer and Political Education Officer in past years.
David writes: I joined the Labour Party in 1971 in South Norfolk and I remained a member in various constituencies, including Lewisham East, until 2003. I rejoined the Party in October 2010 following the election of Ed Miliband as leader.
I was a civil service trade union activist in the Eastern region in the early 1970’s before becoming a full time official for my union (SCPS and now part of the PCS union). In 1993 I returned to Norfolk and in 1999 was appointed to lead the TUC Education Centre at City College Norwich. I continued to work as a TUC tutor until 2014 when the unit was closed down.
I am a member of Unite and I have been active in my branch (Retired Members). I have been an officer of Broadland CLP since 2016. I am a member of the Norfolk County LCF (Local Campaign Forum) elected as Vice Chair in 2018. I was elected to the East of England Regional Board in November 2018 to represent Norfolk CLPs.
