No biscuits in the house? Never fear! This quick and easy Chocolate cake tastes delicious and needs no eggs or butter – so it’s suitable for vegans.
Grease your cake tin and preheat your oven to 180 *C
- 1 1/2 cups or 375 g of plain flour
- 1 cup or 250 g sugar (though I used a bit less)
- 1/4 cup or 60 g cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup or 250 ml cool water
- 6 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice or white vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Mix the wet and dry ingredients together, pour into cake tin and bake for half an hour.
To make a topping you can take a little butter if you have, a cup or 250 g of icing sugar and a little milk for consistency. Whisk it until smooth. Vegans should, of course, substitute the butter and milk with appropriate products.
