The Labour Muslim Network Outreach team writes:

We hope that you are well and in good health.

In these difficult circumstances, we first want to wish all of you and your families well.

As many will be aware, over the summer the Labour Muslim Network launched research into Islamophobia and the Muslim experience within the Labour Party. Thanks to your support and that of many of our key stakeholders, we were able to complete the largest ever consultation of Muslim Labour members in history.

Today we are delighted to launch the report.

Over the coming weeks and months we hope to engage with the party at all levels to begin a journey of working together to root out racism in all its forms. We hope to have your support and cooperation throughout this process. We would appreciate if you could read and share the report amongst your CLPs and online.

Press Release

Labour Muslim Network launches largest Islamophobia consultation of Muslim Labour
members in history.

Today LMN is launching the largest, most ambitious consultation of Muslim members and supporters of the
Labour Party in our collective history.

As the primary initiative of the newly established research unit, we hope to capture the breadth of member
experiences relating to Islamophobia and help develop the policy of the Labour party to better represent our

With the rapid rise in hate crime, and the increase in violent and non-violent Islamophobia across the UK; the
Labour Muslim Network is confident our work with members, local parties and the leadership of the Labour
Party can be truly transformative.

Targeted at every Muslim MP, every Muslim councillor and every CLP in the land, we fervently believe that
such an exercise is long overdue.

Labour Muslim Network executive committee member, Ali Milani said:

“With each passing day; with every new bout of bigotry and baseless blame, life as a Muslim in Europe and
North America – and specifically right here in the United Kingdom – is becoming increasingly bleak.

But at the Labour Muslim Network (LMN), we do not plan to simply sit by silently in response. Instead, we are
ready to step out of the shadows and embrace our share of responsibility in ensuring the continued safety
and prosperity of the Muslim community in this country.

This groundbreaking research unit will give us unprecedented insight into the experience of thousands of
Muslim Labour members across the country.”
