Information about candidates who sent statements to the Labour Party nationally are available from – https://labour.org.uk/activist-hub/governance-and-legal-hub/ballots-and-nominations.
Members should visit that webpage to find out about the candidate or candidates they may wish to propose that or support such nomination.
Submitting a statement to the Party in advance is not mandatory. Any eligible members who secure the required number of formal nominations will be able to proceed to the ballot, meaning other candidates may well canvass for support over the course of the nominations period.
As before candidates will and have written to me asking me to distribute their pitch seeking our nomination and support. I am not going to copy the material they send in emails to all members, I am sure members get sufficient email. However, to be respectful and ensure that all of those candidate who bother to contact me are treated equally what I will do it put whatever material candidates send directly to me on our website, within reason of course (by that I mean if I get one or two a day I can cope — if I get a hundreds I can’t!), and Iwill not put multiple emails on however many times a candidate emails me (and some do).
See the timetable for the election.
