Subject: My campaign NEC Disabled members candidate
I am writing to you as a CLP Secretary to provide some information about my campaign to be the first NEC representative for Disabled members and to ask you for details about your CLP’s nomination plans. If your CLP has already nominated or has decided that you will not be doing so I apologise for clogging up your inbox!
I would be hugely grateful if you are able to share information about me with your members or let me know any steps I am able to take to engage with your members. I can be contacted at:
You can access a pdf statement that can be shared with members here.
I want to use this new position to create a party that is accessible internally and seeks to build an accessible society as we look forwards to a future Government. I believe I have the experience as a disabled activist, Council cabinet member, and trade unionist to represent Disabled members. I’m proud to have been backed by major trade unions, MPs, peers, and of course many members already.
Could I ask if you are able to let me know when your nomination meeting will be?
Finally, I thank you for the work you’ve done as a CLP secretary recently – I know that it has been a really difficult few months and I’ve seen some really innovative ways of engaging members which we need to ensure can continue in the future.
