Subject: NEC Nomination
By way of introduction, my name is Bodrul Amin, and I’m standing for election to Labour’s NEC (CLP Section). In terms of my background, I have been a Labour Party member in Luton since 1997, joining the party as a 17-year-old. I have been involved in many local and national elections throughout this period across Bedfordshire. I have served as treasurer of Luton South CLP for 5 years and Chair for 2 years, amongst many other positions at branch and CLP level. In terms of my professional background, I was a teacher and District Secretary of the NEU and have also worked for the BMA. I have also worked as a trade union solicitor for Thompsons Solicitors, the trade union law firm.
I’ve attached my statement and hope that you will consider nominating me at your CLP meeting. I’m happy to attend any virtual nomination meeting.
