In May 2019 we have the Broadland District Council elections, where we will have to contest 29 seats within our Constituency boundary.
We have identified 12 target seats where we will concentrate our resources with a view to gaining Labour Councillors on Broadland DC. But we have to find members willing to stand for election in order to do this. If you are interested in representing your community and want a Labour voice on the Council, then please get in touch with Philip our Secretary
In addition to our target seats we intend to have candidates on the ballot in all the other Broadland seats so that Labour voters have somewhere to place their X. So please get in touch if you are willing to be a candidate in a non target seat.
Working together we can achieve great things. We have over 900 members and affiliated members in Broadland. Just think if we all gave one hour to canvass and leaflet, what we could achieve in those 900 hours. The reality is that most of the time the same forty or so people turn out. We do our best with this small team of volunteers, but we could do so much more with your help. Over the next coming months we will be organising more canvassing sessions, so look out for our campaign bulletin and the events calendar giving dates and locations. If you haven’t done it before you will be able to shadow a more experienced member of the team. Working as a team brings us together. We make new friends and we can have fun too.
We need you
We will be starting to canvass in our target seats early in the new year and we need your help. There are a variety of ways in which you can help. Check out our Volunteering FAQs.
